Welcome to the First Annual Theodore Robinson Plein Air Competition
Presented by Eager Free Public Library, The Theodore Robinson Society and The Evansville Community Partnership.
En plein-air is a French phrase which means “in plain air”, outside – not in the studio; from nature – not from photographs; to
capture natural light and shadow as it varies in the elements, including effects of color, light, and atmosphere.
The residents of Evansville look forward to seeing artists working in and about our community. Visit Historic Evansville to paint “en
plein air” from June 8 through June 17, with cash prizes being awarded the afternoon of June 17 at 3:00 pm.
